Radiology reports are written for doctors. Tap any phrase you see on yours to read what it means. The report is one piece of the picture: your exam and how your shoulder feels matter just as much.
Nothing you type is saved or sent. It only narrows this list on your screen.
No match. Try a shorter word, or bring the report and ask me at your visit.

While you waitYour shoulder MRI
Welcome. I’m Dr. Raynor, and I’ll be with you shortly. If you have had a shoulder MRI, this short guide shows what the pictures mean, decodes the words on the report, and explains what I look for when I review it. It uses the same animation I use to explain MRIs. It takes about four minutes.

If you are coming in to see me, a few things to think about before your visit, so we can make the most of our time together:
Bring the images, not just the report: a disc or a link to the images, plus the written report. Bring X-rays if you have them, a list of the injections you have had in that shoulder with approximate dates, and how much physical therapy you have done. If the scan is more than a few months old and surgery is being considered, I will usually order a new one.
If you live outside Dallas-Fort Worth, my team and I will often offer to review your images before you travel and let you know whether a trip to Dallas for surgery is likely to be worth it. For insurance reasons this review cannot be an official telemedicine visit, but it can help you decide whether to make the trip.
Take this home. Point your phone camera at the code to go through this guide again at home, with your report in hand.
